I remember it like if it were yesterday. Although I'll admit I was a sucker for Barney and wanted to watch that show 15 times a day, my oldest sister would always make us watch "Mr.Rogers Neighborhood". It was her favorite as a child so she did her best to make it our favorite as well. There's just something so calming about Mr.Rogers. Mr. Rogers passed away in 2003. TriStar Pictures announced a movie called "You Are My Friend" focusing on the friendship of Mr.Rogers and a journalist who's life forever changed when he was given an assignment with Rogers being his focus. TriStar released a statement revealing Tom Hanks would star in the movie as Fred Rogers.

We can expect an amazing performance from Tom Hanks and a beautiful story line to go along with it. According to the statement TriStar released "You Are My Friend is inspired by a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and award-winning journalist Tom Junod. In the heart-warming story, a cynical journalist begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write a profile piece on the beloved icon and finds his perspective on life transformed."
