The Great Pumpkin Run for Cancer Research is This Weekend!

This weekend is a great opportunity to lace up your running shoes and help out a good cause. The Great Pumpkin Run for Cancer Research will be going down this weekend at A.C. Steere Park in Shreveport on Saturday, October 13th.

The start times for the half mile kid's run will be at 8 am. Then the 5K will kick off at 8:30 am. After the race is over there will be fun activities for the family. There will be a costume contest, pumpkin decorating, and face painting.

According to their event page on Facebook, you still have time to save money on registration if you get signed up before October 12th. For the half-mile you can pay $15 until the 12th or $20 on race day. For the 5K you can pay $25 until the 12th or $30 on race day. All proceeds will benefit Feist-Weiller Cancer Center.

If you are wanting to get your race packets before Saturday, you can do so at Sportspectrum on Thursday, October 11th from noon to 6:30 pm, or on Friday, October 12th from 10 am to 5:30 pm. If you wait till the day of the organizers will start distributing packets at 7 am.
