After reading this note, I realized that this could have easily been a message for me.

With over 1 million shares on Facebook, it's safe to say that this note posted at a Texas daycare for parents has gone viral. The note's message is simple, "GET OFF YOUR PHONE!"

It's a simple plea from the workers at the daycare after seeing their students grow excited to see their parents at the end of the day, only to be disappointed when they can't remove their eyes from their device.

"We have seen children try to hand their parents their work they completed and the parent is on the phone."

You get a visual of a kid racing to show off what he has done to his mom, but they can't seem to grab their attention. It's sad. And it's honestly something we can all learn from. How often do we miss out on things because we are glued to our phones? You may think you can multitask, but you're only giving half of your energy to both.

I learned this one evening when I took my puppy outside to play in the yard. I sat on the porch with a cup of tea balanced on the chair next to me. I thought I could use my phone and watch Ollie at the same time, but because I was so wrapped up in SnapChat, I didn't realize that he was pushing that coffee cup off the chair until it smashed on the ground.

Foolish, right?

Now, I don't have kids, but I do have a husband, puppy, family, and friends who deserve my attention. One of my resolutions this year was to be more intentional. This, most importantly, means that I need to put down my phone more often.
