Tera Hardison – This Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Tera Hardison is one of those people that make you just want to be a better person! She's dedicated to God, her family, and her entire community.  And her tireless work proves her love is real.

And it's because of those attributes that she's being recognized as this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient!

It was actually her friend and co-worker, Emily Williams, who nominated Tera and Emily's letter tells the whole story!

Tera and I met when I started working at Walnut Hill. She worked in the office and I was a new teacher wandering around campus like a lost puppy. Anytime I had a question about anything I could go to the office and Tera would help me find the answer. A couple years later we both found ourselves married to police officers and bound by the bond of the badge. Last year Tera came to me and another LEO wife and suggested that we have a "Blue Out" day at school to show our support for local law enforcement. Tera took her idea to our principal and he agreed. Not only did our principal agree, but many other schools in Caddo Parish followed our lead. Then after the Dallas police shootings I received a text from Tera. She had an idea to have a cookout for local law enforcement to show support. I didn't know how we would make it all happen but I said "YES!" Tera took it from there. She created a Facebook group and people started flooding in to help. She pulled in some amazing women to help get donations from individuals and from businesses. Yesterday we had our first "Feed Our Friends in Blue" event feeding the first responders of Bossier and it was a HUGE success! We can't wait to do the same for Shreveport and Caddo. All of this came from the idea of one woman. One woman with a heart of gold that I feel so lucky to call my friend, Tera Hardison.
