Though the weather doesn't feel like it and the heat hasn't given any indication of letting up, it's still football season here in Northwest Louisiana and here's a look at this week's schedule for our local teams.

Lots of area teams are beginning to settle in to what could be an outstanding season. With two games behind them, coaches and players are ready for their next opponent.

The Calvary Cavaliers have won their second consecutive LHSAA Division III State Championship. The Cavaliers defeated Catholic-New Iberia 27-24 Friday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

It's quarterfinals week for several District 1 high school football teams here in Northwest Louisiana.  The 2014 season has come and gone for many, but these schools continue their march to the Super Dome in hopes of grasping the State Championship trophy.

Several Northwest Louisiana high school football teams continue to see action this week as they advanced in the playoffs last Friday.

The hard work and dedication for a lot of high schools here in Northwest Louisiana has paid off with a trip to the "post season" and will begin playoff play this week in hopes of making a run to the Dome for the LHSAA State Championships.  Good luck to all our teams!

Parkway High School's appeal of an LHSAA ruling was denied today after a hearing in Baton Rouge.  The decision means Parkway will be ineligible for the upcoming 5A state playoffs.

It seems like the teams were just scrimmaging last weekend, but here we are in the final week of high school football in District 1.  Play off pairings will be announced after this week and there are still a couple of teams clawing for a berth in after season play.
