Louisiana's school voucher program is on track to become the most expansive nationwide program of its kind. With the potential to give parents control over tax dollars used for education, this program is causing quite a stir. Is it fair to teachers? Is it fair to parents who are paying for the private education of their children?
Parents taking out a crippling loan to ensure that their child has a good education is nothing new. However, they usually wait until the child is in a grade that doesn’t have a finger painting class before they start slowly going into debt.
Apple announced earlier this year that it’s digital textbooks available on the iPad would revolutionize the education system. And Kiss Country schools will be part of the revolution as the Desoto Parish School system plans to issue iPads to all High School students next year.

Delivering a mild electrical current to pilots’ brains through EEG electrodes placed on the scalp — a process called transcranial direct current stimulation (TDCS) — can accelerate learning and improve pilot accuracy. According to Evergreen Education Group, a consulting firm that works with online schools, an estimated 250,000 students nationwide are enrolled in full-time virtual schools, a 40 percent increase in the last three years. And the International Association for K-12 Online Learning, a trade group, says two million kids take at least one class online.
