March 2, 2011 A Palm Beach man hit the trifecta. First, a wildlife officer found a dead gator in Calvin Lee Devol’s truck. The state’s recreational alligator hunting season had ended two weeks earlier. Devol at first said he’d picked up the animal on the road. After the officer spotted a bullet hole in the gator’s head, Devol, while still not admitting he’d killed the animal, said the gun that shot it was in the cab of the truck.
