Locally, we may start to see assets of our new extra-terrestrial fighting force at Barksdale AFB.

Every week, Kiss Country is making a special point to thank all those incredible men and women who have served our great country and fought for our freedoms! We appreciate the sacrifices made by service personnel and their families, this week we salute Staff Sergeant Dewayne Manson of the Texas Army National Guard. His mom writes:

The Haydel family of Haydel's Game Calls is doing something really cool for a group of wounded warriors by hosting a special hunt for them. The six wounded warriors will arrive in Kiss Country October 12th and the Haydel family needs our help to make this an excellent and memorable experience for these guests! Let's show our southern hospitality!

Jason and Jeanne McLaughlin, owners of The Thrifty Peanut and Media Warehouse locations in Shreveport and Bossier, are finally about to see their dream to fruition.  That dream is “Books For Troops” and Friday, July 22nd at 9am, those “Books For Troops” will be headed overseas to American servicemen and women.
