Stage Center To Hold Auditions For Two Upcoming Productions

Stage Center, the theatre company that has recently brought "Steel Magnolias," "Next To Normal," and "Disney's The Little Mermaid," among other performances to the Shreveport stage, will be holding auditions for two productions of their 2017 season.

Round 1 auditions will be held Sunday October 2, 2016 at their offices at 520 Olive Street, Suite A-01, Shreveport, LA 71104. Sign-ins will begin at 12:45 p.m.

Auditions for both plays will consist of cold-readings from the scripts. Actors are welcome to prepare a scene with a fellow actor, or choose one of their sides to perform with the provided ‘reader.’

The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow, based on the book by John Buchan and the Alfred Hitchcock film, and directed by Daniel Salazar, follows innocent bystander Richard Hannay as he races cross-country to solve a mysterious crime–before it's blamed on him! Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance!

SEEKING: 3 men and 1 woman roughly between the ages of 18 and 50.
REHEARSALS begin on or about December 5, with PERFORMANCES at Emmett Hook Center January 20 – 28, 2017.

Peter and the Starcatcher, by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker, is the most hilarious-filled evening of madcap fun! This swashbuckling grownup prequel to Peter Pan will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight.

SEEKING: 11 men and 1 woman between the ages of 16 and 50.
REHEARSALS begin Saturday June 3, and will take place nightly from 6PM-10PM, Saturdays from 10AM-6PM, and Sundays from 2PM-6PM, with Mondays dark for two weeks in prep to PERFORM at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse June 22 – July 1, 2017.
