Okay, this job is getting tougher every week.  With us receiving hundreds of letters every week about those who stand head and shoulders above the crowd here in Northwest Louisiana, it gets nearly impossible to select our weekly “Caught in the Act Award” recipient, but this lady made the selection process too easy.

Nominated by her daughter, Sarah Meshell, we just had to tell you about Sonya Ott. Obviously an Angel on earth, Sonya is the person we'd all like to think will be caring for our parents as they age.

Here’s what Sarah wrote about Sonya as she nominated her for this week’s Caught in the Act Award.

I would like to nominate my Mom. She has the most positive outlook on life and always ready to help anyone she can. She works tirelessly as a nursing home administrator and strives to please her residents as well as their family members. There is no department she is not willing to help out in when needed from driving long distances to assess those needing a place to come or buffing floors. She has done it all! When not helping the elderly she enjoys her time with her grandchildren. That hasn't just been the occasional visits that most grandparents have as she has custody of 2 of these precious babies. She took them in without a second thought. She's always there to help anyone in need even if it means giving you her last dollar. She has been a true angel on earth to so many people and knows her strength is a gift from God!

Sonya Ott, Thank You! Thank you for caring! Thank you for seeing the need, and filling the need! And because you’ve been “Caught in the Act” the gang at Silver Star Steak House and Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Sonya to let her know that she was this week’s Caught In The Act Award recipient.
