The Shreveport Police Department has been hard at work in recent months working on new ways to fight crime in the city through Operation Shots Fired. The Operation focused around areas that had hirer reports of gun violence by putting more police in those areas. The operation lasted from February into March of this year.

Shreveport PD reports that through the operation they made 45 felony arrests, 37 misdemeanor arrests as well as 12 guns and $640 worth of drugs seized.

Due to the success with Operation Shots Fired SPD has decided to move forward with Operation Long-Haul where they will use the information they collected earlier in the year and continue to focus on those areas.
