Tonight Movies and Moonbeams presents Jack and Jill in Riverview Park. Take a blanket, some snacks and for goodness sake some mosquito repellant with DEET in it and enjoy a movie in the great outdoors! Riverview Park is in the 600 block of Clyde Fant Parkway just across from Festival Plaza.

It's an Urban Adventure Race!

Oh the thrill and excitement that surrounds the unknown!! This is a YMCA event where the course is super duper secret. Starting at the Downtown YMCA, participants are given clues to find the destinations in the race. It's urban--downtown, no streets closed. Multiple sports are utilized such as biking, running, paddling, etc. It's a competitive team sport, meaning yes, there will be winners, but you get to tackle it with a buddy. The fun starts Saturday at 8 am. If you participate we would love to see your photos!

The Battle On The Border

High School football fills Independence Stadium Saturday with a day of music, fun, and football! Kickoff times:

  • Byrd Vs Marshall 3 pm
  • West Monroe Vs Calvary 7 pm

 

The day will be filled with music, performances by: Windstorm, Caravan Band, The Roscoes, and Matthew Davidson Band. There's also a family fun zone with inflatable games, face painting, and cheerleader / spirit squad appearances from participating schools. The fun zone will be located directly in the north end zone of the football field

 

LSU FOOTBALL

LSU vs. Washington from Death Valley Saturday night with kickoff at 6 pm. The game will be on ESPN and you can listen to all the LSU action on 1130 AM The Tiger!

 

Walk To Cure Diabetes

The 4th Annual North Louisiana Craig Floyd Memorial JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held on Saturday.  The event is a 1.5 mile walk that starts and ends at Party Central (4401 Viking Loop) in Bossier City.  There will also be entertainment, food, games, and activities for the kids including face-painting, electronic games, and more. Registration for the event, which begins at Party Central, is at 8:00 am, and the Walk begins at 9:00 am.
