Shoot or Don't Shoot! We've seen protests all across the country after police officers have been accused of shooting people who aren't armed.  One of the most vocal people has been the Reverend Jarrett Maupin who describes himself as a, “Progressive Baptist Preacher, Civil Rights Campaigner, and Radical Political Activist. Reverend Maupin has led many civil rights protests in Arizona most recently after the officer involved shooting of a suspected drug dealer Rumain Brisbon in Phoenix.

The Maricopa County Sheriffs offered Reverend Maupin the opportunity to go through a force on force training exercise to see what it is like to be in the police officers shoes. It was an eye opening experience to say the least. Reverend Maupin stated, “ I didn’t understand how important compliance was, but after going through this, yeah, my attitude has changed. This is unfolding in ten to fifteen seconds…. People need to comply with the orders for their own safety.” I give the Reverend credit for being willing to try to see both sides of the situation. Watch this video and you will have a whole new respect for law enforcement!
