The Bossier Parish School Board failed to pass a measure that would have allowed 4 local high schools (Haughton, Bossier, Airline and Parkway) to get new artificial turf football fields. The was split down the middle on the issue - voting 6 to 6.

Some members believe this is a bad time for the project, saying that if the board approved it now it would take funding away from projects promised to the public. Those in favor argued that the new fields would be beneficial for students and would be something that is used every day of the year.

However, Bossier High may still get their field. The Board did approve Bossier the ability to use one million dollars set aside for a new track on the fields, if they wish. However, the Bossier City Council will have to give final approval on the reallocation of funds.
