One man truly believes he found this dog just in time.

My heart is broken for south Louisiana. It's so devastating to see and hear what is happening in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and surrounding areas. Of course, it's hard to find adamant coverage because everyone wants to focus on the Olympics. But our neighbors are suffering. We've seen so many rescue stories, but this one caught my eye.

The saddest eyes in Louisiana caught one man's attention in the nick of time.

According to the Daily Mail (isn't it crazy that other countries are covering this flood better than our own?), Sadie was trapped in high waters under a bush. One man, Josh Pettit, said he saw the bush shaking before locking eyes with the "saddest eyes I ever seen." Photos on his Facebook page state that he found Sadie just in time.

He quickly loaded her up into his boat and set out to find her owner.

Sadie, whom he later learned was her name, was reunited with her owner. He told Josh that Sadie got scared while he was loading his other dog into a truck. She bolted and he was unable to find her.

Josh has been heralded as a good Samaritan who has been patrolling the waters in Baton Rouge helping all he can. Thank the Lord for people like Josh and all of the others who have been so instrumental in helping other during this terrible time.
