Recipe – Holiday Spiced Tea [UPDATED]
I am already drinking down my first batch of Spiced Tea for this holiday season. My mom has been mixing up this orange, lemony, spicy concoction as long as I can remember. My friends always request it around this time of year, the requests became so overwhelming a couple years ago that I began gifting them with a small jar of tea and an attached recipe–my subtle hint.

This tea is so easy to make because you really can’t go wrong. Add whatever spices you want to the three base ingredients: Instant Tea, Tang, and Country Time Lemonade. I add cloves and nutmeg. You could also add allspice and cinnamon.
Holiday Spiced Tea:
1 jar of Tang (1lb 11 ounce jar)
1 package of pre-sweetened lemonade Koolaid OR CountryTime
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg and allspice if you like (I do!)
And I just noticed at the bottom of my mom’s recipe that she occasionally adds rum—totally makes sense if you met her, pretty sure 4 kids will do that to you. . . I’ve never tried it though. lol
I toss all the ingredients into a large plastic bag, seal it up and shake it around. (It creates a cloud of spicy smoke when you open it–so wait for it to settle a bit or you will have tangy nostrils.) This tea looks so pretty when you pour it into a mason jar. Add 2-4 tablespoons to a cup of piping hot water, depending on how strong you prefer it and enjoy!!
