Raymond Crews Cruises to Win for State House Seat

Political newcomer Raymond Crews wins the House District 8 race after a bitter final couple of weeks. He defeated fellow Republican Robbie Gatti in the runoff election. The two were the top vote getters from the March special election to fill the seat once Mike Johnson was elected to Congress.

Crews got nearly 4 thousand votes to 2200 for Gatti. Crews pulled in 65% of the vote to 35% for Gatti.

Things got nasty in the race over the past two weeks with allegations flying in commercials and in mailers sent to homes across the district.

Unofficial returns also show three of the four of the Caddo Parish millage renewals passed as voter turnout has been described as extremely low. The millage renewals for public facilities, public health facilities, and Juvenile Court and Detention passed while the millage renewal for the Caddo Courthouse has failed.
