Randy Travis’s health went from bad to worse last night when he suffered a stroke while still in a Texas hospital. The singer who has been being treated for congestive heart failure since Sunday had to undergo emergency surgery to relieve the pressure on his brain. Randy remains in critical condition. It's not clear what kind of stroke he suffered. His publicist issued a statement: "As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis suffered a stroke. His family and friends here with him at the hospital request your prayers and support."

The stroke reportedly happened just a few hours after the two doctors who've been treating Randy's heart problems released a video update about his condition. They said his health had been "stabilized" and that he was showing signs of improvement.
