A grant from the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement has allowed Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana to expand their KIDLINE services to 24 hours a day.

This is a hotline service that allows parents, child abuse victims to talk to someone who can point them in the right direction to receive the help they need.

Instead of being 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. they are now open around the clock.

The folks on the other side of the phone are professionals who can give emotional support to those who need it. They can give information on child development and positive discipline tips. Also, you can now text with a counselor and chat online.

The 24 hour hotline is 1-800-CHILDREN, and the number to contact counselors through text is 225-424-1533.
