It's no great secret that Louisiana has had some public officials that were less than scrupulous. The fact of the matter is that we are supposed to trust our elected officials. And they are supposed to work for our best interests. This doesn't always happen, unfortunately, but there are people out there fighting against corruption. The Broadmoor Neighborhood Association is holding a discussion about public corruption, and the public is invited to attend.

Local and federal government officials charged with enforcing anti-corruption laws will answer questions about their work at a Broadmoor Neighborhood Association meeting Tuesday, May 10.

Speakers confirmed for the 6:30 p.m. forum at press time included Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw, Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, FBI Agent Ryan Allen, Caddo Parish Assistant District Attorney Laura Fulco, Shreveport City Attorney William Bradford and Alexander Van Hook of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

BNA President Rob Broussard said the speakers will describe their jurisdictions in the area of government corruption and how they work in tandem with other law-enforcement agencies. Audience questions will be taken.

The BNA will meet in the gymnasium of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 1915 Grover Place. For information call Broussard at 318-655-3545 or email 3boysnblaze@bellsouth.net.
