When I grow up, I wanna be just like "Mr. Don" Bryant.  For decades he's made it his life's mission to "give the gift of life."  And because of this, Mr. Don is this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award recipient!

We first heard of Mr. Don in his nomination letter from Brian Allison.

Mr. Don Bryant, or "Mr. Don" as he is lovingly called. Mr. Don is a regular volunteer and blood donor. He is 83 years old and still donates platelets religiously ever 2 weeks. In addition to his donations, Mr. Don volunteers out in the community at 150+ blood drives a year to help recruit people to donate.

He goes to nearly every high school drive we have in Shreveport, as well as BPCC. High School drives are his favorite to attend, because he loves encouraging the kids to become donors for the first time. He usually tells them "I'm 83 years old and I give every 2 weeks, but I can't do this forever someone's going to have to take my place."

If Mr. Don misses one of the drives that he's normally at we have the kids asking about him. He is very much loved and a hidden gem within our community!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Mr. Don to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.

But apparently, we aren't the first to recognize just how wonderful a man Mr. Don is, as in 2012 he was honored by Lifeshare Blood Center for having potentially saved well over 2,000 lives.

Mr. Don Bryant, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Steak House and Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!
