Reed McClendon has a kind soul. You can just hear it in his voice. And he's a "hugger." In fact, those hugs are famous. And this week, while we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, it's men like Reed who continue to share the good news and the Christian spirit that means so much to so many.

And it's that kind soul and his genuine concern for all those around him that have made this week's selection for our Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award an easy one. Just read the nomination letter we received from his wife, Maggie

“Caught in the Act”, when I think of this phrase and who is the perfect recipient for it, one person comes to mind, my husband, Reed McLendon. God placed this man in my life at the perfect time, we been married for little over a year now and he has touched and changed my life in more ways than I could possibly mention in one letter. However, it is not only my life or the life of his family that he touches daily. Reed has been a respiratory therapist for over 20 years,I have had the pleasure of working with him in this field as a friend and then as his wife. From older patients to the tiny ones, he makes sure that he leaves a lasting impression on them at the end of each day, what do I mean by that? Reed never enters a room without a smile on his face and a greeting with one of his famous hugs. His patients reference him as; “the tall guy in the white coat” at Minden Medi cal Center. Reed takes a moment and prays with his patients, the sick ones, the scared ones or the ones who are just having a bad day. He takes time to listen to the tired momma’s and daddies of the sick children who just need to hear, “It’s going to be ok”. I see him more often than not engaged with coworkers spreading his years of wisdom with them, laughing with them, helping them. If you see him in the hallways, you can guarantee, Reed is going to greet you with a hello and smile. I wanted to nominate my husband for this weeks “caught in the act”, because he never gives himself enough credit, he changes others’ lives with a simple smile, hug and a prayer and sometimes that is all it takes to make a great day better.

Reed McClendon, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Reed to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
