Meet Marilyn Potts – This Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Marilyn Potts is one of the shiniest jewels in our crown of northwest Louisiana!

Marilyn's niece, Hope MacDougal, wrote us to tell us all about Marilyn. Not only does she have a heart for animal rescue, she also actively helps children and our soldiers abroad. After reading Hope's letter, we just knew we had to honor Marilyn! Here's what Hope had to say:

The best way to describe Marilyn is a genuinely big hearted person. She is always there for anyone in need from sending stray animals in need of a good home and care to the vet at her expense before sending to new home to putting together care packages. Every Christmas she allows her home to be turned into a home base to put together countless numbers of operation Christmas Child shoe boxes and does not think twice about what she spends for these children in need.
Not to mention the work, time, money, energy, and thought that she has put into putting together care packages for the soldiers serving our country over seas. She has done so much for these soldiers that she was actually recognized by the Governor. She is always there when you need her. I dont even think the word "NO" is in her vocabulary.
When her mother could no longer live independently, she sold her house she was in and bought a larger home so that she could move her mother in and Marilyn could take care of her and her two cats.
I could go on and on about her but to sum it up she is an amazing kind hearted person. She is the most selfless person that I know and I am honored and privileged to call her my aunt.
