Earlier this morning, I was humbled to get the opportunity to speak with Lauren Jackson. Her giving heart and willingness to help others hasn't gone unnoticed and it's those qualities that have made her the recipient of this week's Kiss Country "Caught in The Act" Award.

Several months ago, Gary and I came up with the premise behind 'Caught in the Act.' We wanted to shine a light on people like Lauren, who truly make our community a better place.  It was a heartfelt nomination by Reba Tullis that caught our eye about Lauren.

In 2009 I had breast cancer and she (Lauren) went above everything to help me with finances...she stepped up and did many fund raisers to help me get by and pay bills..she also put on a benefit softball game last year in my honor...she had twin girls and was pregnant with her 3rd baby and it never stopped her from helping me...our niece just graduated high school and she also helped make it possible for her to get her very first car...today her and some friends went and passed out water and food to some homeless people..I've always wanted to do something special for her and right now I'm still struggling with things since I haven't been able to return to work yet...she will give anyone the shirt off her back and still manages to take care of her 3 kids...

Lauren Jackson, it's citizens like you that make people worldwide envious of Northwest Louisiana and you've certainly been "Caught In The Act" of doing good.

Along with letting everyone know just how incredible Lauren is, we've got a small token of our appreciation for his kindness, with a $100 gift card to Silverstar Steakhouse.  And a hearty THANK YOU Lauren! You've been "Caught In The Act!"

Take a listen to Lauren as she found out she won this week's award this morning.
