Meet Candy Jett – Our Caught in the Act Award Recipient for May 14 [VIDEO]

Knowing that there are people like Candy Jett in the world makes things seem a bit better. Candy is just one of the people in the Shreveport/Bossier City area making this such an awesome place to live!  I got the chance to speak to Candy and let her know that she'd been named this week's Kiss Country "Caught in the Act Award" recipient and she was stunned!

Candy's love for her fellow man and her drive to help others in need made her a stand out. Here's the awe inspiring nomination we received from her friend Bridget Strobel.

I would like to nominate a dear friend, Candy Jett. Over a year ago Candy felt the drive to help the homeless. She found a spot in downtown Shreveport and gathered a few friends to help her. Every Saturday morning since then she has been downtown handing out lunches, snack bags, water, toilet paper and anything else that our homeless friends need. What started out as a small little operation has turned into feeding about 100 homeless men, women, and children each week. She is an amazing woman and an inspiration to more people than she will ever know.

Thank you Candy for showing the rest of us how to act selflessly and to be so giving. We are truly honored to say that you've been "Caught In The Act" of doing good.

Along with letting everyone know just how incredible Ms. Candy Jett is, we've got a small token of our appreciation for her generosity with a $100 Visa Gift Card. Even though we told her we want her to spend it on  herself, she insists she has two people waiting on tents and that's what the money is going towards!
