Meet Brenda Kimmey – This Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Every week we're blessed to see hundreds of letters showing us the positives of life here in Northwest Louisiana.  We get countless entries for our weekly "Caught in the Act Award" with stories of men, women and children who truly make this an incredible place to live.  The selection process has gotten harder and harder every week because so many are doing so many amazing things.  And that's why this week's selection is so special.  Nominated by "an anonymous thankful Mom," Brenda Kimmey's story just had to be told.

Here's what that Mom wrote about Brenda as she nominated her for this week's Caught in the Act Award.

Brenda is the PTA President at Forest Hill Elementary in Shreveport. She is also on the Louisiana State PTA and serves on several committees. She gives freely of her time and energy not just during the school day but also on weekends and in the middle of the night.I have seen her use her own money to buy shoes, jackets and Christmas presents for Forest Hill families that couldn't have done that without her help. Her wonderful husband Jeremy is frequently drafted to help with events and always does so graciously.
When you meet Brenda she always has energy and time for you, whatever you want to talk about she wants to hear. I have seen Brenda on both her best days, and some pretty bad ones and she always takes time to make people feel special. Every child in the school who speaks to her gets her undivided attention, you can see in their faces that its important to them and they certainly feel like it was important to her as well.
This woman is a true gem for this school and her community around her. The kids love her, the staff loves her and she really and truly goes the extra mile above whats required of her.
