After a tough opening weekend, and some bad injury news this week, the LSU Tigers heated up last night against the Texas Longhorns at Alex Box Stadium. Here's a breakdown of last night's game from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"It was all LSU last night in its matchup with Texas as the Tigers trounced the Longhorns 13-4 at Alex Box Stadium. The Bayou Bengals bats came out hitting in the first inning, scoring five runs off Texas ace Nolan Kingham. Kingham lasted just three innings and gave up eight runs.

Offensively, the Tigers were led by second baseman Brandt Broussard who was 4-for-4 with 4 runs driven in. Lead off man Daniel Cabrera drove in three runs as the Tigers had 16 hits. Zack Hess gave up two runs in the 2nd inning, but pitched six strong innings and struck out a career-high 10. Game two of the series is tonight at 6:30 with Caleb Gilbert pitching."
