Louisiana schooled athletes made a strong showing in Super Bowl XLIX, starting with Northwestern state’s Jeremy Lane who intercepted Tom Brady in the first quarter when the patriots were threatening to score. It was Lane’s first career interception, unfortunately he broke his arm on the play and had to leave the game.

Super Bowl 49’s first points came at the hands of former LSU wideout Brandon LaFell who scored on an 11 yard pass from Tom Brady. LaFell had four catches in the game for 29 yards.
