A Louisiana man is behind bars for claiming to be attacked by an axe, then when authorities arrived, blaming the drugs they found in plain view on a ghost!

According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Michael Auttonberry, 60-years-old of West Monroe, LA, reported early Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018, that he had been attacked with an axe and had been stabbed in the head. When officials arrived on the scene, Auttonberry was cursing people who were not there, as well as the responding law enforcement officers. They then cuffed Auttonberry for their safety. KNOE reports that law enforcement found Auttonberry uninjured and they did not find any intruders in his home. However, they did find meth in plain sight, as well as on Auttonberry's person. Auttonberry claimed that intruders or a ghost planted the meth.

Auttonberry is still being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of criminal mischief for filing a false report to police and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, schedule II, which is a felony. His total bond is $5,000.
