Watch your mailbox over the next few weeks for an early Christmas present from the great state of Louisiana.  According to the Louisiana Treasury Department's press release, residents who are owed up to $1,500 will be getting a check in the mail early next month.  It's all part of the "unclaimed property" the state keeps track of.

"Unclaimed property," refers to money you have left behind in the form of a deposit, over-payment, or a refund due to you that has somehow been left behind.  Most of the time, this is due to a change of address - but don't worry, the state has been keeping tabs on you.  They have found your new address, done all of the paperwork, and have already cut your check!

If you just can't wait to see if you are getting some of that sweet cash, you can check out your status by clicking here.
