Two Slidell, Louisiana elementary school students were arrested last week on charges of delivering child pornography.  The unnamed boy and girl were taken into custody after officials discovered nude photographs being shared among students via the picture sharing app Snapchat.

Officials allege that a male and a female student took a nude pictures of themselves and shared them with each other.  The pics were then shared with several students before the school officials discovered what was going on.  According to WGNO, the Bonne Ecole Elementary students were released in to the custody of their parents.

While sending nude pictures of yourself to another consenting adult may be a terrible idea, it's not illegal.  For minors, sharing nude pictures of yourself is a serious crime.  According to Louisiana law, offenders can be fined up to $50,000 and can also be sentenced to 5-20 years of hard labor in prison.  People convicted of this crime are also required to register as a sex offender for the next 25 years.
