All Shreveport resident Elaine Ramoz wants for her birthday this year is help sending the Louisiana Special Olympics Swim Team to Seattle for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games!

I had the pleasure of meeting Elaine earlier this year when she was nominated and subsequently honored as one of our Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award Recipients. As a result, she was also asked to serve as the grand marshal of the 2018 Krewe of Gemini parade. Elaine is an incredible individual. Not only does she serve as the area team leader for Special Olympics Louisiana, she's a Master Trainer at AcquaPole.

With that being said, when I saw Elaine's request for donations for the LA Special Olympics Swim team in lieu of birthday gifts on Facebook, I knew I had to lend her a helping hand getting the word out. Elaine is one of the coaches for the swim team and you can see the entire listing for Team Louisiana by clicking here.

If you clicked through, you can tell, we're sending quite a delegation (70 athletes, 28 unified partners, 31 coaches and official delgates) from Louisiana and I couldn't be more proud. Many years ago, I had the opportunity to help at a state event with the equestrian portion of the games and the experience lives on my memory to this day. It was truly a wonderful experience for all involved.

I hope you can find it in your heart to give! Every amount helps, no matter how big or small! And don't forget to cheer on Team Louisiana July 1-6, 2018 while they compete in Seattle with nearly 3,500 other athletes from around the world!
