Lester Smith spends a lot of time in jail. Not because he has to, but because God called him to minister to these inmates. In fact, we're told that he and his children have placed Holy Bibles in the hands of many inmates who had never held a Bible before.

And it's Lester's heart and willingness to spread the Gospel that caught the eye of his daughter, Kandi Thompson, who easily convinced us that Lester Smith should be recognized as this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award recipient.

Just look at the nomination letter she submitted on Lester's behalf:

My dad has a heart for prison ministry. His vision is to share the love of Jesus Christ with them while they're down and out as to help them for when they are released. my dad and our family which there is 3 girls and 1 boy have placed bibles in hands of people that have never held one. He to this day is involved with ware youth center ,Winn correctional ccc and Johnny grey Jones, and many more he feeds the poor And much more to list my dad has the biggest heart and I am so blessed to be his little girl .he has taught me to never take for granted what we have and to help those in need .do unto others as u will have to you that's what daddy lives by.

Lester Smith, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and being a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse and Silver Star Grille have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Lester to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
