Lauren Hovey – This Week’s Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Lauren Hovey is one of those over-achievers that make the rest of us wonder just when she sleeps.  She helps the hungry, teaches the youth and is even studying for her Masters and never loses her smile while doing any of it.

Lauren is living proof that there are some awesome people here in the Arklatex and she's definitely our gift from God.  She's what is RIGHT with this generation and she's this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient!

Nominated by Mike and Jessica Cummings, we didn't have to read too deep in their letter to realize just how awesome a person Lauren was and it made it easy to recognize her as this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient.

Lauren is the director/Founder of Community Christian Services (CCS) in Joaquin, TX. (like CCS on FB)
On any given day she is giving her heart and soul to find the means to feed and clothe the residents of East Texas. Since March 2015 CCS has been able to give out 766 (as of 11/4/2015)East Texas mobile food pantry boxes to families in the area - adding 133 boxes to that today. She gives God the glory in all that she does and never complains. Starting in January CCS will become a full pantry which would normally take 2 years - CCS has graduated within 9 months. When Lauren is not volunteering her time to CCS, she is guiding the youth of FBCHaslam as their Youth Minister.
Lauren also tutors elementary aged students and pushes them to succeed (my son being one of them)
I honestly don't think Lauren sleeps - because on top of all that she does for our community she hand crafts beautiful antler jewelry.
She deserves to be recognized.
