I'm not sure if there's anything folks native to Louisiana love more than the look on an out-of-towner's face when they experience the real flavors of the Bayou State.  That's why I was so excited to hear that we were exporting some of the most delicious morsels the Sportman's Paradise has to offer - crustaceans.

According to WWLTV.com, over 100,000 aquatic creepy crawlies are being transported to the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.  Unfortunately, they aren't preparing to hire some zydeco bands and have an amazing boil.  It's strictly for educational purposes.

The UL Lafayette Zoological Crustacean Collection may be the largest archive of marine decapod specimens in the Western Hemisphere, and it's headed to one of the finest museum's in the world.  The collection dates back 40 years, and includes preserved crabs, shrimp, lobsters and other crustaceans that have been collected near and around the islands in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico.  It also includes tons of research notes and over 50,000 photographs, but no corn or potatoes.
