Kissin’ Bandit Challenges Don Tubbs to Lawnmower Race

I broadcasted from Tubbs Hardware on Saturday morning and challenged Don Tubbs, owner of Tubbs Hardware to a lawnmower race!  A listener/race fan took video of the showdown!

First off, let me say that Don Tubbs races dirty!  I challenged Don on his home turf, so I don't blame him!  Don is the man.  I want to be the man.  To be the man, you first have to beat the man!  That's what I told him right before I challenged him to a race on two of his mowers.  I ran on an Ex-Mark mower, Don raced a Toro.

It was my first time ever on a zero-turn mower (they are awesome btw.)  Don gave me a tutorial on how to drive it that lasted about 3 seconds.  If you buy a mower from Don, I can promise you he'll take much more time to teach you the ins and outs of running one of these mowers.  But for our purposes Don just told me, "It's like driving a shopping cart, just push forward and go!"  You've probably already figured out that Don smoked me in the race.  Check out the video.  Notice (at the :10 second mark) how I popped a wheelie when I hit the gas... that had to cost me some time!  Also, notice how Don gave me the mower with the overhead roof (that had to create some drag right?)  And of course, Don had an entire pit crew off to the side that you can't see in the video.  One thing is for sure, Don is still the MAN when it comes to lawnmowers.  This was a lot of fun!
