Kenneth Smith's mission in life is to "Serve and Protect" and he's put heavy emphasis on that "serve" part!  And for that, he's this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient!

From his days in the military to his service now as Caddo Constable, law enforcement has been a way of life for Ken.

And one of the most awesome parts of his success story is that it's his own daughter, Kaylee Remedes, who's been paying attention and stands in awe of her own Dad.

Just look at the letter we received from Kaylee about her Dad:

My father is the most selfless man I have ever met. Not only does he go above and beyond for his friends and family, but he also puts his life on the line every single day to protect strangers. He has dedicated his life to serving and protecting. He is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, retired Shreveport police officer, previously served as a Shreveport Marshall deputy, and is now serving as a Caddo constable. He is the first one to come running when there is anyone in need, and always puts others before himself. During the floods this spring he took his time and money to purchase supplies stranded residents desperately needed. He would purchase items like diapers and food then give them to the Sheriff's deputies to have them delivered to the victims. Recently he has started taking care of his friend's father who has Alzheimer's. His friend is often gone due to her job, and m y father steps in to care of her ailing father. He takes him to his doctor's appointments, grocery shops for him, and does multiple check ins daily to ensure that he is not going without. I am truly amazed by the huge heart my father has. He goes out of his way to take care of someone that he does not have to, even though it sometimes puts a strain on his other relationships. He does all of this without a complaint, or asking for anything in return. I am truly proud to call such a wonderful man my dad, and I hope I can become even half the person he is.

Kenneth Smith, thank you for being one of the "good guys" and a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live!

And because you've been "Caught in the Act" the gang at Silver Star Steak House and Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Kenneth to let him know that he was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
