Sometimes it's a little tough to pick out our weekly Caught in the Act Award recipient for the week.  There are so many people doing such awesome things in our community, it's hard to narrow it down to just one person, but this week was too easy.

When we got Jennifer Vicknair's submission letter from the entire medical community at WK Pierremont, we knew this was a special lady.

Special enough to be recognized as this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient!  Just take a look at the letter they sent us:

We would like to nominate Jennifer Vicknair for this award because she is the most selfless person we know. Not only does Jennifer work as a social worker in a medical setting, providing compassionate care to patients and families, she is always willing to volunteer at a food bank, thrift store and local charities. Jennifer is a wonderful mother and wife but an even better friend. When Jennifer's friend, Suzi told Jennifer that she was very ill with polycystic kidney disease, Without hesitation, Jennifer said "what is your blood type, maybe I am a match". From that point forward, Jennifer went through the difficult process of donating a kidney and on July 22, 2014, Jennifer saved Suzi's life. When talking about being a living donor, Jennifer will tell you she is humbled by the recognition and believes that it was all in God's timing. "He is never late and often times calls us out of our comfort zone". She will jokingly tell you "I have two and only need one so why not donate?" Jennifer's heart of God, willingness to serve others and her faith in God allowed her give the gift of life.

Jennifer Vicknair, Thank You! Thank you for caring! Thank you for seeing the need, and filling the need! And because you’ve been “Caught in the Act” the gang at Silver Star Steak House and Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you to come have dinner on them!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Jennifer to let her know that she was this week’s Caught In The Act Award recipient.
