It’s Deer Season in Kiss Country and the Rut is On!

If you're off work this week and you were "thinking about" heading to the woods to do a little deer hunting, I've got a couple pictures here that might help you make up your mind.  The rut is on and that means BBD baby!  (For the hunting vocabulary challenged, that's Big Buck Down)  We had an incredible weekend at our deer lease, Walnut Hill in Arcadia.  Friday morning, November 16, young Cameron Duke was in the deer stand with his dad, Christon Duke.  Not long after the break of dawn, Cameron took his first buck. A nice young 4 pointer.  Then just a little while later, another shot rang out at Walnut Hill.  This time around, it was my preacher, Gevan Spinney, from First Baptist Haughton.  What he brought to the camp is the new camp record!   A monster 12 pointer that rough scored over 160 inches.  Then Sunday morning (Yes, the preacher knows we played hooky from church this week) Christon Duke took this really nice 8 pointer.
