I was wrong. So wrong. I have never really been a huge Trace Adkins fan, I never understood the infatuation that many of my friends had when it came to him. I am convinced to understand how great of an artist Trace Adkins is you'll have to see him live. Blake Shelton brought Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and Trace Adkins along to his Country Music Freaks Tour. One of the most beautiful things about country music is 90% of the time country artists sound just as good on the stage in concert as they do on their album. Carly, Brett, Trace and Blake were no exception they all sounded great.

I wish I was ready for the mind blowing that Trace Adkins pulled on me, unfortunately I wasn't. Halfway through Blake Shelton's set the stage goes black and Blake Shelton is nowhere to bee seen, all of a sudden a tall man in a black cowboy hat takes the stage and the stadium goes wild. Not only does Trace Adkins still have IT, he made 56 look sexy. Blake Shelton eventually joined Trace Adkins on stage after Trace sang "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" "You're Gonna Miss This" "Ladies Love Country Boys". Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins had a song off. Just them two front and center. The crowds cheers would serve as the judge. Whoever gets the loudest cheer wins. Can I just say we should have called it a cry off instead of a song off? Blake sang "The Baby" and Trace sang "Every Light in the House". According to the crowd cheers, Trace won the song off.

The banter back and forth was great, they performed and unscripted uncensored song, where they would take jabs at each other and at the end of the verse say "You're still an a**hole" which had us all laughing. Trace Adkins left the building after bringing the house down with Blake singing "Hillbilly Bone". I was wrong about Trace Adkins, he isn't close to being done, he still has it, and he is not ready to quit. I was wrong thinking that Trace wasn't that great of an artist, he sounds better live than on an album. I am ready to see Trace in concert again!
