Looks like the traffic could slow to a snail's pace during the night hours several times over the next few months.

In a story on the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's website we read:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, vehicles traveling both Eastbound and Westbound on I-220 will experience a slowing of traffic at mile marker 6 in Caddo Parish.

The purpose of this event is to allow the transport of bridge segments across both lanes of the interstate at this location. This transport is related to the I-49 Segment K project currently under construction.

The traffic event will start at 9:00 p.m. each night and continue until 5:00 a.m., with intermittent episodes throughout the night.

These crossings will occur every night for several months.
