Most all of us will be glued to the television Sunday evening for the Super Bowl...that is, those of us who haven't passed out from all the pre-bowl festivities.  Along with the buffalo wings and Rotel dip, thousands of Americans will have one or six too many.  And it happens in spite of the fact that we have to return to work Monday morning.  

Bright eyed and bushy tailed?  Probably not!  Course, the best and most obvious way to beat that hangover, is to not drink to begin with....but it's the Super Bowl...so here are a few ways to try and beat that Monday morning hangover.

  • Drink a glass of water with every beer or cocktail.  Prevents you from dehydrating.
  • Pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen all can stave off hangover headaches.
  • Drink Powerade or Gatorade to fight off all the lactic acid your body builds up while drinking
  • A last resort:  A morning nip--the "hair of the dog that bit you"--can keep a hangover at bay.
