More and more states are seeing teachers walking out of schools this year and it does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The main reason for these walk outs that we've heard is teacher pay.  While I believe they should be paid more that is not the only reason for the protests. Teachers are not given all the supplies needed for their classrooms meaning our students are not given all the supplies needed to learn. Instead of letting the children suffer a majority of teachers pay out of pocket for what is needed.

On average teachers in America spend between $500-1000 on school supplies for their kids each year. Obviously this isn't even enough when stories like the little girl in Oklahoma was using Blake Shelton's old school book that he used in 1982! Some teachers living on campus because they cannot afford rent in the town they teach. This is a growing problem.
