Most of us would try some type of photo bomb if we saw the Google Maps Street View car coming down the street, but these guys might have taken it just a little too far.

Dan Thompson is the owner of a car repair shop in Edinburgh, Scotland, and 31-year-old Gary Kerry is one of his mechanics. The two were just outside the shop in August of 2012 and they saw their golden ticket to stardom.  The Google Maps car was quickly approaching!

The fast-acting duo immediately put their plan in action. Thinking it would be funny to stage a fake murder to be captured by Google, Dan laid face first on the ground and pretended to be dead while Gary stood over him wielding an ax handle.  Once the car came by and captured their photos, they forgot all about it.

However, when Google eventually updated their Edinburgh maps with those photos and someone spotted the now somewhat infamous "murder scene" their memories were quickly jogged as the cops made them a visit.

As the police showed up at Dan's repair shop to investigate the murder, they visited with the two and found it was just a joke. No charges were filed, and Google has even left the fake murder up and it can be seen HERE.
