It's no secret that we Louisianans love great food.  And lots of it.  At 35.5%, only Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, and West Virginia have a higher obesity rate than Louisiana.

Obesity rates in the U.S. have been steadily increasing since the mid-1980's.  However, there are signs that the trend is leveling off, largely due to states' efforts to prevent obesity during early childhood.  Louisiana is among the states that has set standards for Early Childhood Education (ECE) settings which promote healthy eating and physical activity.

As a person who's struggled with weight issues most of my adult life, the big issue for me is healthy eating.  Whereas I should eat to live, I live to eat.  At this point in my life I've developed a severe case of Furniture Disease--my chest has fallen into my drawers.  I've also contracted Dunlap's Disease--my belly has done lapped over my belt.

So what's an overweight Louisianan do to combat this problem?  Well, get plastic surgery, of course!  A recent study by HighSpeedInternet.com reports that the most Googled plastic surgery in our state is the Butt Lift.  Because, let's face it, it's hard to look good when your booty's draggin'.

This sounds like the perfect fix for me, because I need something to hold my pants up.  My waist disappeared sometime last year, so I've been contemplating investing in a good pair of suspenders.  But if I could just create a slight ridge in the back by lifting my butt, that might do the trick!

Of course, I could simply eat healthier food and less of it, but where's the fun in that?  I wonder if my wife will let me take out a second mortgage on the house just so I can have a butt that ride's so high you could put a saddle on it?
