An annual poll has confirmed what many people already knew: King George Strait and Garth Brooks are America's favorite country stars.

According to the Harris Poll, an unscientific polling of a couple thousand Americans conducted this July, the King sits at the very top of the list of most-loved country singers. Strait even made it into the Top 5 of the overall music list -- an impressive feat for any country artist. And the competition was steep, too -- Strait is ranked among Led ZeppelinBeyonce, Elvis and the Beatles.

Brooks is the only other country act that made the Top 10 in the Harris Poll. He sits at No. 7, but he isn't alone -- he's tied with the Eagles and Neil Diamond.

This year, the list finds a lot less country than in previous years. Tim McGraw has dropped off the list, as have Rascal Flatts. Alan Jackson has also made the Harris Poll rankings in previous years, but failed to make it as a fave in 2014.

The Harris Poll has started to break down their findings by demographics. Senior citizens seem to usually pick the same country artist as their No. 1, and that age range finds Willie Nelson as their favorite musician.
