Pony Club was one of the organizations I was involved with as a kid and I have fond memories. Not only does it give horse enthusiasts a chance to fellowship, it teaches horsemanship, stable management, teamwork and, most of all, responsibility!

It's a big deal when you're entrusted with the care of one of God's creatures and I consider myself blessed to have had so many wonderful horses in my life over the years.

Pony Club continues on today with the Gator Bayou Pony Club locally (yes, if you're doing the math, it was almost thirty years ago when I was involved) at Holly Hill Farm in Benton, LA. But like with any organization, it takes money to be able to allow these young adults to learn and grow. That's where you come in. If you have a horse, consider entering. If you have kids, bring them out! Let them see all the horses and ponies, spend a day in the sunshine, check out gorgeous Holly Hill Equestrian Center, support the concession stand and more!

Gator Bayou's annual hunter/jumper show is coming up Friday and Saturday, March 5 - 6, 2016 at Holly Hill which is really easy to find at 1296 Old Plain Dealing Road, Benton, LA 71006. I'll see you there!
