Tim Brando is synonymous with sports throughout the country and yet he's still local enough to bump into you on the golf course at Southern Trace or at Brookshires.

He's a Shreveport native and Fox Sports announcer, and now Tim Brando will serve as Grand Marshal of the 2016 Camping World Independence Bowl Parade on Monday, December 26, in conjunction with his induction into the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars.

In a press release from the Camping World Independence Bowl, we read:

Brando’s passion for sports broadcasting was launched over four decades ago as a student at Fair Park High School. From calling local high school football games to play-by-play announcing of college football and basketball for FOX Sports, Brando has distinguished himself as a giant in his industry.

He is also the lead play-by-play announcer for Raycom's coverage of ACC basketball broadcasts and he hosts their five-time Emmy Award winning syndicated show, Havoline Football Saturdays.

The annual Parade and Pep Rally will take place at the Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets on Monday, December 26th at 10 am as the bands and spirit squads from NC State and Vanderbilt join Mardi Gras floats in a parade down the Boardwalk. The parade will be followed by a pep rally under the Texas Street Bridge. The event is free and open to the public.

After the parade head over to the Red River District in Shreveport and enjoy the festivities as Brando will be inducted into the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars on the outdoor stage of the District at 11 a.m.

Following the Walk of Stars induction, fans can head to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds for the Camping World Independence Bowl’s Coca-Cola Fan Fest, which begins at noon. This event is also free and open to the public, and will feature food and drinks, live music and games for the kids.

Tickets are available for as low as $30 for the 2016 Camping World Independence Bowl and can be purchased by calling 318-221-0712 or visiting CampingWorldIndependenceBowl.com.
