With friends and family losing homes and jobs because of the oil industry and state budget here in Louisiana struggling, this story hits close to home for me and I’ll go ahead and say right out front, I’m on the side of the Canadian Prime Minister, even though he doesn’t need my support. Apparently, Leonardo DiCaprio was at the World Economic Forum and vocally pronounced that corporate greed in the oil industry is causing climate change. The Canadian Prime Minister wasn’t having that and confronted Leo saying, "inflammatory rhetoric" wasn't helping families of people who are losing their oil industry jobs. Can I get an Amen?

If you’re a Star Wars fan and have some extra cash on hand, Luke’s blaster is up for grabs for a starting bid of $200,000 from The Empire Strikes Back.

Miranda Lambert is a busy girl! She just announced her Keeper of the Flame tour with Kip Moore and Brothers Osborne. While I don’t see Bossier City on the list, her website says they haven’t announced all of the dates for her tour yet AND she’s playing AT&T Stadium in Arlington June 4th with Kenny Chesney, so it doesn’t rule out a show here. There’s a ton of dates around that one for routing.

Speaking of Miranda, you know she’s an animal lover and right now she’s asking for donations for a fallen K-9 officer in Lindale, TX. The K-9 was shot and killed while authorities were trying to apprehend someone in a stolen vehicle. Miranda is working to try and get a new partner for Deputy Constable Kevin Petty and donations can be made on Miranda’s MuttNation Foundation website.

Speaking of hockey, the Shreveport Mudbugs return to the ice this fall at their original home at Hirsch Coliseum as a part of the NAHL, the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier II Junior League.
