My wife and I started a tradition nearly 20 years ago that essentially completes my Easter weekend, and I enjoy it even more than chocolate bunnies and honey roasted ham.  Every Easter morning we attend the Easter Sunrise Services at Hill Crest Memorial on Highway 80 in the Haughton area.

There is nothing so awesome as the open amphitheater at Hill Crest as dawn begins to make its presence with wood ducks flying by and squirrels scampering around. Each year a different church is selected as "host" church and they provide the services.

This year it will actually be my home church, First Baptist Haughton, with the message from Pastor Gevan Spinney and music from the entire church choir.

Services are scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. but plan to get there by 6:00 am to allow yourself time for parking and to grab a donut and cup of complimentary coffee.
